Delete Your Account
You can delete your MeetMyPets account at any time, and you do not need to ask us for permission. This page explains both routes, what gets removed, when, and the few things we are required to keep.

1. Delete from inside the app
This is the fastest route and it is available to every account.
- Open MeetMyPets and go to Settings.
- Choose Account, then Delete account.
- Confirm. Deletion starts immediately — you do not need to contact us afterwards.
2. Delete by email
If you cannot sign in, write to hello@meetmypets.app from the email address registered to the account, with "Delete my account" in the subject line. We verify that the request comes from the account holder before acting on it, which is why the request has to come from the registered address.
3. What happens, and when
- Deletion begins as a soft delete: your profile, your pets and your content stop being visible to other users straight away.
- There is a 30-day grace period. Contact us within it and we can restore the account.
- After 30 days the account and profile data are permanently removed and cannot be recovered — by you or by us.
4. What is deleted
- Your account, profile and profile photo.
- Your pet profiles, their photographs and their vaccination records.
- Your posts, comments, group contributions and event responses. These are deleted, not anonymised — we do not keep your content under a “deleted user” label.
- Your matches and your location data, including the coordinates used for proximity calculation.
One exception is worth stating plainly: messages you sent to another user may remain visible to that person in their own conversation history, because that copy is also their data.
5. What we keep, and why
- Identity documents are already deleted within 30 days of verification completing, long before any account deletion. The document image is not kept.
- The verification outcome — verified or not — is retained, so that a badge cannot be reset by deleting and recreating an account.
- Records that Indian law requires us to hold, for example financial and tax records, may be retained for up to seven years.
- Server logs and diagnostic data are retained for 90 days.
